Andrew Watson was born in North Yorkshire and studied photography at Derby College of Art. He moved to London working in photography and community arts at Ed Berman’s Interaction based in Camden.
For a 10 year period the ‘80s he used colour printing expertise gained at Derby and on study trips to the USA to teach a broad range of colour processes at London College of Communication and Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. From 2003 to 2010 he was course director of Postgraduate Certificate Photography course at Central Saint Martins and then briefly MA Photography. During this time his long term interest in landscape photography led him to work in collaboration with Simon Callery on the Segsbury Art and Archaeology project which was shown at the Natural History Museum in Oxford in 1997.
He is currently working on projects which look at the impact of renewable energy on the British landscape with a particular emphasis on community based projects for example Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative.
